Hafner, Josef, b. Enns (Upper Austria), May 22, 1799, 
d. Linz (Upper Austria), April 10, 1891, painter of miniatures, 
engraver and lithographer. Studied at the Vienna Academy, founded a 
printing press in Linz in 1827 where he introduced lithography. his 
works include about 180 depictions of places in Upper Austria, 
Salzburg and Styria, as well as about 200 pictures of Linz, also 
created maps, decorative dedication sheets and portraits.
