d. Salzburg, Dec. 16, 1801, architect; brother of Johann Baptist  
Hagenauer. From 1760 court clerk of the works of the arch abbey in 
Salzburg. Created numerous churches, towers and altars in Salzburg 
(including in Hallein, Mattsee, Bergheim, Elsbethen), Tyrol (Matrei) 
and South Tyrol (Brixen/Bressanone), and together with his brother 
Johann Baptist H. the statue of the Virgin Mary in the square in front 
of the Cathedral and the Neutor (gateway to the city) in Salzburg.
