d. Vienna, Feb. 1, 1940, botanist, plant geographer, curator at 
the Museum of Natural History in Vienna; explored the flora of Asia 
(1907, 1910), especially in south-western China (1914-1919), of the 
Eastern Alps and of the Adriatic coasts.
