Handwerkerschule, Allgemeine, (tradesmen´s school, general) 
school offering 2 - 3 years of vocational training, could be attended 
by boys during the last 2 years of their compulsory schooling. 
Developed 1885 by A.  Dumreicher, temporarily introduced in Imst, Linz 
and Klagenfurt, but did not gain public acceptance; did, however, have 
some influence on the development of the educational system in 
Germany.
