b. Munich (Germany), March 23, 1942, film director, author, film and 
literature critic. Stage director in Austria and Germany, since 1974 
assignments for television (including "Wer war Edgar Allan?", 1984), 
in 1979 first film of the cinema with "Lemminge", screenplays for P.  
Manker. Awarded the Grand Prix of the Jury at the International Film 
Festival in Cannes 2001 for "Die Klavierspielerin", as well as 
numerous other international prizes.
