!!!Hans von Judenburg

Hans of Judenburg, painter, wood-carver. Evidence suggests he worked
in Judenburg (Styria) between 1411 and 1424; his work belongs to the
late period of the "Soft Style". It had been suggested that he was
Hans von Tuebingen and the master of Grosslobming but this has been
disproved. The former high altar of the parish church at Bozen/Bolzano
(1421-1423) is regarded as his masterpiece. The sculptural ornaments
of the altar are kept in different museums (e.g. Munich, Nuremberg,
Cologne, Zagreb). A statue of the Madonna with child (around 1420) in
the parish church at Judenburg is also ascribed to him.
