b. Vienna, Aug. 19, 1941, author of literature for children and young 
people, translator, literary critic, editor; 1960-1985 editor and 
manager of the publishing firm "Verlag Jungbrunnen", works for ORF 
(Austrian broadcasting corporation). His translations of classical 
works of world literature (e.g. by M. Twain, R. Kipling, O. Wilde) are 
famous in the German-speaking countries.
