b. Vienna, July 6, 1906, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 22, 1998, essayist and literary critic, especially 
famous as the author of literary essays and linguistic commentaries. 
In 1946 co-founder of the Vienna Karl-Kraus-Society. In 1980 awarded 
the Austrian State Prize for cultural journalism.
