b. around 955,
d. Dec. 5, 1023, Archbishop of Salzburg (991-1023); in 996 granted the
market right and coining prerogative by Emperor Otto III; played
an important role in the reforms of the monasteries of
St. Georgen am Laengsee (Carinthia) and Goess (Styria) and also
in the church reforms (set up a uniform system of parishes),
commissioned the building of Nonnberg monastery church and Hartwig
cathedral in Salzburg.
