b. Salzburg, Nov. 29, 1926, 
d. Salzburg, Oct. 23, 1992, law graduate and politician (Austrian 
People´s Party, OeVP). 1967-1969 deputy mayor of the town of 
Salzburg, in 1961 member of the Landtag, 1973-1977 deputy head of the 
provincial government of Salzburg and 1977-1989 head of the provincial 
government of Salzburg. 1976-1989 OeVP party leader in Salzburg. As a 
federalist he was engaged beyond the borders of Salzburg in advocating 
a modern image of Austria.
