!!!Haslinger, Tobias

b. Zell bei Zellhof (municipality of Bad Zell, Upper Austria), March 1, 1787, 
d. Vienna, June 18, 1842, music publisher. Started to work in the 
publishing firm of F. Gloeggl in Linz (Upper Austria), in 1826 took 
over the renowned Viennese publishing firm S. A. Steiner, and in 1832 
that of T. Mollo, to become one of most significant music publishers 
of the Biedermeier era. Published works by musicians, incl. L. van 
Beethoven, L. Spohr, J. N. Hummel, F. Schubert, J. Lanner and J. 
Strauss the Elder. Replaced lithography with engravings on tin plates. 
His son Carl H. (1816-1868) took over the publishing firm.
