b. Villach (Carinthia), April 8, 1919, 
d. Zollikon near Zurich (Switzerland), May 11, 1990, (film) actress. 
Started her career in revues like "Literatur am Naschmarkt" in Vienna; 
in 1937 L.  Trenker discovered her for film (greatest success: "Die 
Geierwally", 1940); 1937-1983 engagements at many theatres including 
Munich, Berlin, Duesseldorf, Hamburg and Zurich; guest performances, 
e.g. at the Burgtheater in Vienna, numerous tours, after almost 25 
years of absence returned to film in 1988 ("Martha Jellneck"), also 
worked for television (German television series "Diese Drombuschs"). 
Many awards, incl.: Kainz Medal in 1961, Grillparzer-Ring in 1967.
