!!!Hatschek, Ludwig
b. Těšetice, Czech Republic (then Tieschetitz), Oct. 9, 1856,
d. Linz (Upper Austria), July 15, 1914, inventor and entrepreneur.
After his family left the firm Linz Brewery, he bought a factory for
asbestos goods in Voecklabruck (Upper Austria) in 1893; in 1900 he
succeeded in the invention and factory production of asbestos cement
(1901 "Eternit"). His descendants expanded the enterprise and in 1980
it was turned into a limited company ( Eternit-Werke Ludwig Hatschek
AG).
