d. Vienna, Feb. 27, 1915, stone mason. Founder of the modern 
stone-mason industry in Austria (introduction of modern machinery), 
developed his enterprise into a large industrial group; in charge of 
masonry work for the new Court opera in Vienna and other major 
buildings constructed during the Age of Promoterism 
''(Gruenderzeit)''.
