b. Bozen/Bolzano, South Tirol, Sept. 16, 1810. 
d. Bozen, Aug. 4, 1878, botanist. On his death left a rich collection 
of insects, mosses and lichens (now in the Tirolean provincial museum 
Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck, the ''Gymnasium'' secondary school at 
Bolzano and in private collections).
