b. Mainz (Germany), 1743, 
d. Vienna, March 10, 1830, painter and etcher, son of the painter 
Joseph  H. I from Mainz. Around 1750 his father took him to 
Vienna, where he studied under J. C.  Brand at the Vienna 
Academy. Produced a number of architectural views and landscape veduta 
of Lower Austria which are very interesting from a topographical point 
of view. Preferred the medium of gouache.
