b. around 1270, 
d. Tyrol Castle (South Tyrol), April 2, 1335, Duke of Carinthia, son 
of  Meinhard II of Tyrol (of the family of the  Meinhardiner), in 
1295 he and his elder brothers Otto and Ludwig took over the 
government of Tyrol, Carinthia and Carniola, in 1307 became King of 
Bohemia (his wife Anna was one of the sisters of King 
Wenceslas III), but lost Bohemia to Johann of Luxemburg in 1310. 
Under his rulership the financial situation in his lands worsened. 
After his death Carinthia and Carniola fell to the House of  Habsburg, 
his daughter  Margarete Maultasch inherited the Tyrol.
