b. around 1310, 
d. around 1375, late medieval poet, probably from Carinthia (or from 
Styria), lived in Vienna, wrote many sayings, poems, speeches 
(including "Gespraech mit der Weisheit") and papers on ethics as well 
as two legends (Dorothea, Creszentia) and the "Rosshaut". As a 
moralist he advocated a moderate, God-fearing life. His substantial 
works had great influence on medieval didactic poetry.
