Heldendenkmal (heroes´ monument), Vienna: The Aeusseres Burgtor 
gate of the Hofburg palace, finished in 1824 in memory of the Battle 
of the Nations near Leipzig after plans by P. Nobile; an epigraph was 
added in 1916; in 1934 converted into a monument under R. Wondracek. 
Chapel on the ground floor, open Hall of Honour on the upper floor 
dedicated to "the memory of the glorious Imperial army 1618 to 1918". 
The walls are decorated with concrete reliefs by H. Dimmel and L. 
Schmid. There is a monument in memory of the victims of Fascism.
