Hellmonsoedt, Upper Austria, market town in the district of 
Urfahr-Umgebung, alt. 825 m, pop. 1,802 (1981: pop. 1,431), 
area 18.06 km%%sup 2/%, in the Muehlviertel region, north of 
Linz. - Wood-working industry, manufacture of industrial furnaces, 
summer tourism. - Gothic parish church (1441) with choir vault 
(beginning of 16%%sup th/%  century), altarpiece by B. Altomonte 
(1758), sepulchral chapel of the Starhemberg family and numerous tombs 
(15%%sup th/%  - 17%%sup th/%  centuries); pillory column (1566). 
Pelmberg open-air museum, "Mittermayer" historic farmstead. Wildberg 
Castle and fortress ruins close by.
