!!!Helmer, Hermann

b. Harburg (Germany), July 13, 1849, 
d. Vienna, April 2, 1919, architect. Associate of F.  Fellner Jr., 
with whom he designed many theatres within and outside the 
Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Many of these buildings are major 
representatives of architecture during the period of late Historicism 
in Europe (e.g. the Graz Opera, the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt, the 
Volkstheater in Vienna). H. and Fellner also designed important 
exponents of residential architecture (e.g. Sturany Palace, Vienna, 
from 1874) as well as hotels and department stores (e.g. the 
Rothberger-Kranner department stores in Vienna, destroyed in 1945).
