b. Ingolstadt (Germany), July 5, 1933, Kammerschauspieler, 
entertainer, chansonnier; 1954 at the Residenztheater in Munich, 1957 
at Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna; guest performances in Berlin 
and Hamburg, contract work at the Volkstheater in Vienna and the 
Salzburg Festival, since 1972 member of the ensemble, since 1993 doyen 
of the Burgtheater in Vienna. 1986 played at the Theâtre Musical 
in Paris under the director G. Strehler; film and television 
engagements ("Auf d´Nacht, Herr Direktor"; television series for 
ZDF, "Liederzirkus"); numerous records with songs and chansons (incl. 
"Heltau singt Brel"); many awards including Karl Skraup Prize in 1971, 
Kainz Medal in 1973.
