d. Graz (Styria), April 17, 1945, geologist and palaeontologist. 
1909-1945 university professor in Graz, 1911/12 seismological expert 
at the Academy of Sciences, research on the east Alpine palaeozoic era 
and its fossilised fauna, especially tetracorals. Specialized in 
crystalline rocks of the Styrian greywacke zone and stratigraphy of 
palaeozoic formations.
