d. Vienna, Oct. 28, 1966, actor, director, theatre manager; as actor 
of heroic roles appointed to the Burgtheater in Vienna in 1912, member 
of the company until 1950, from 1921 also worked as director. 
1923-1930 director of the  Burgtheater (engaged E.  Balser und W.  
Krauss); from 1932 artistic director of the Theater der Jugend.
