!!!Herzig, Wolfgang

b. Judenburg (Styria), Oct. 24, 1941; painter and graphic artist. 
Studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, from the 1960s produced 
critical paintings influenced by G. Grosz and O. Dix. 1968 took part 
in the "Wirklichkeiten" exhibition in the Vienna Secession, from the 
1970s painted subtly exaggerated pictures which were severe in 
composition and time-consuming in their preparation. Since 1997 
professor of painting at the University of Applied Arts (formerly 
Hochschule fuer angewandte Kunst) in Vienna
