!!!Hess, Heinrich Freiherr von

b. Vienna, March 17, 1788, 
d. Vienna, April 13, 1870, Field Marshal. From 1805 officer, 1839-1860 
led the quartermaster unit and in 1844 became the holder of the 
infantry regiment 49. Leading positions during the Italian campaigns 
of 1848/49, against Prussia in 1850, in the Crimean War 1854/55 and 
during the campaign of 1859. In 1860 captain of the trabant lifeguards 
and of the Hofburg guard, 1861 member of the upper chamber of the 
Reichsrat, wrote papers on military science.
