b. Vienna, Feb. 21, 1895, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 3, 1973, employee and politician (Austrian Social 
Democratic Party, SPOe). 1938-1944 held in political detention many 
times, spent 8 months in Buchenwald concentration camp. 1955 president 
of the International Association of Private Employees, 1959 vice 
president of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (OeGB) and 
president of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance 
Carriers. 1945-1962 member of the Nationalrat, 1961-1962 vice 
president of the Nationalrat.
