Hintertux, Tirol, village in the district of Schwaz, alt. 
1,493 m, tourist village in the upper Tux Valley, located 
opposite the ice falls of the Tux Glacier, part of the municipality of 
Tux. - Thermal spa (spring water containing radium, 22,5° C), 
Zillertaler Gletscherbahnen cable railway to the Sommerbergalm 
(2,028 m), Tuxer-Ferner refuge (2,605 m) and 
Gefrorene-Wand-Spitzen (3,288) mountains. Mariahilf Church (first 
documented mention 1730, rebuilt after it was destroyed by an 
avalanche 1950-1952); curtain waterfalls in the Weitental valley, 
south of Hintertux Kunerfall waterfalls; Schmittenloch and 
Schraubenfallhoehle caves.
