b. Bruck an der Mur (Styria), Nov. 5, 1916, mathematician. 1948 
professor at the Faculty of Mathematical Analysis in Vienna and at the 
Department Of Technical Mathematics and Actuarial Theory at Vienna 
University of Technology. Awarded the Austrian Decoration for Science 
and Art in 1964.
