b. Dortmund (Germany), Jan. 7, 1942, actor, director, theatre manager; 
trained as an actor in Berlin, then worked at various theatres in 
Germany, in cinema and television, 1974-1979 stage producer at the 
Salzburg Landestheater, then as a director in Frankfurt, Bonn and 
Heidelberg; director of TV-productions for ORF (Austrian broadcasting 
company) and Bavarian broadcasting, increasingly as a director of 
operas, from 1986 manager and artistic director at the Salzburg 
Landestheater.
