b. Antwerp (Belgium), 1575, 
d. probably in the Netherlands around 1630, copper engraver and 
painter of miniatures. Son of Georg  Hoefnagel; in 1609 created the 
first topographically reliable view of the City of Vienna, which was 
at the same time of high artistic value.
