!!!Hofbauer, Friedl

b. Vienna, Jan. 19, 1924, author of books for children and young 
people, translator. In 1962 published her first children's book "Der 
Schluesselbund-Bund". Her works are characterised by the link between 
the realistic and the fantastic and by her use of language adapted to 
a child's vocabulary. Awarded the Austrian State Prize for Children's 
Poetry in 1999.
