!!!Hofer, Franz

b. Bad Hofgastein (Salzburg), Nov. 27, 1902, 
d. Muelheim an der Ruhr (Germany), Feb. 18, 1975, businessman and 
politician. 1933 was arrested in Tyrol as a supporter of the Nazis, 
escaped from prison and fled to Germany, 1938-1945 gauleiter in Tyrol 
and Vorarlberg. Arrested by the US army on May 6, 1945; 1948 escaped 
from internment, disappeared and lived under an assumed name in 
Muelheim (Germany).
