Hofer KG, food retailers, headquarters in Sattledt (Upper Austria); 
since 1963 part of the ALDI chain of supermarkets (ALDI Sued), founded 
as "Albrecht-Discount" by the two brothers Theo and Karl Albrecht in 
Essen (Germany) in 1948. ALDI has more than 3,000 outlets in Europe. 
In 1992 the Austrian Hofer KG achieved a turnover of about 
15,000 million ATS with its 189 outlets.
