b. Vienna, Aug. 14, 1867,
d. Vienna, Dec. 17, 1941, painter. After studying at the Vienna
Academy, 1891-1893 worked in Paris; later took part in expeditions to
India, China and Japan, in 1898 became a member of the Vienna
Secession (1906-1908 president), during World War I painter of war
scenes in Poland; after the war worked in Vienna.

facade of Annahof in the 1st district of Vienna; theatre
curtain, Wiesbaden, 1894; high altar paintings in the Brigitta church
in the 20th district of Vienna; portrait of actors for the Theater
Berndorf; Raimundzyklus in Schloss Kogl im Attergau, 1913. - Paintings
in the Austrian Gallery Belvedere, in the Museum of Military History
and in the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna, drawings in the
Albertina.
