b. Vienna, March 20, 1824, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 17, 1876, landscape painter. Studied at the Vienna 
Academy under T.  Ender and F.  Steinfeld the Younger and in Munich; 
travelled through Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Moravia and 
Hungary. Produced mainly pictures of high forests, decorated with game 
and hunting scenes.
