b. Vienna, July 22, 1825, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 8, 1913, bridge and railway engineer; cousin of 
Theodor von  Hornbostel. Co-operated with K. Ritter* von  Ghega on the 
construction of the Semmering railway, constructed the first railway 
bridges in Austria in 1851/1852.
