Hueber, Josef, b. Vienna, around 1715, d. Graz (Styria),
Sept. 26, 1787, master builder. Together with J. Carlone and A.
Stengg the most important representative of late-baroque architecture
in Styria. Appointed "Regional master builder" (1740) and "court
master builder" as well as "master builder of the War Ministry"
(1753); was responsible for numerous reconstruction projects and new
buildings.

Ecclesiastical buildings: Mariahilferkirche church, Welsche
Kirche church, Stadtpfarrkirche church in Graz; Kindberg,
Muerzzuschlag, St. Veit a. Vogau, Wallfahrtskirche am Weizberg. -
Secular buildings: Rittersaal im steir. Landhaus, Landstaend. Theater,
Buergerhaus in Graz, Schloss Oberkindberg etc.
