Hugo von Montfort, b. 1357, d. April 4, 1423, poet of the 
late Middle Ages, Count of Montfort-Bregenz and Pfaffenberg, holder of 
important political and administrative offices, head of the provincial 
government of Styria in 1415, where he was buried (Bruck/Mur). He 
wrote songs, poetic love letters, political and didactic speeches.
