b. Berlin (Germany), Aug. 2, 1937, singer (soprano), Kammersaengerin. 
Debut in 1960 at the Vienna State Opera, member of the Vienna State 
Opera for 30 years (1960-1990), performances in Salzburg and all the 
leading opera houses of the world (mainly roles in works by W. A. 
Mozart and R. Strauss). Numerous recordings. 1990/1991 artistic 
director of the Graz Opera.
