b. Vienna, April 21, 1919, painter, sculptor and graphic artist. From
1943 studied at the Vienna Academy. Together with E. Fuchs, E. Jene,
R. Hausner and W. Hutter was co-founder of the surrealist group of
the Vienna Art Club, which provided the basis for the Vienna School
of Fantastic Realism . From 1949 professor at Bryn Mawr College in
Philadelphia.
