Jauerling Mountain, Lower Austria, alt. 960 m, highest mountain 
in the Wachau area, in the south-eastern Waldviertel region, presumed 
to be a prehistoric sacrificial site. Protected landscape, 
Jauerling-Wachau National Park with observation point, herbs museum in 
H. Pichler House, nature trail, bird museum, Jahn monument. Jauntal 
transmitting station (mast 141 m high), Lower Austria base 
station. Accessible from Maria Laach and from Spitz by way of 
Oberndorf.
