b. Vienna, April 4, 1929, pianist. 1950 awarded the Boesendorfer Prize 
of the Vienna Academy, 1957, 1st Prize at the international pianist 
competition in Rio de Janeiro, which was the starting point for his 
successful international career as a soloist. 1973-1997 professor at 
the Musikhochschule (now University of Music and Performing Arts) in 
Vienna.
