Koeniggraetz (Hradec Králove), town in the Czech Republic. In 
the decisive battle of Koeniggraetz (also called Battle of Sadowa) of 
the  Austro-Prussian War of 1866 Prussian troops under H. von Moltke 
defeated the Austrian-Saxon northern army under L. von  Benedek on 
July 3%%sup rd/% , 1866 and then advanced towards Vienna.
