Koenigstetten, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Tulln,
alt. 181 m, pop. 1,635 (1981: 1,308), area 13.05 km%%sup 2/%, situated
between the Tulln Basin and the Vienna Woods, at the foot of the
Tulbinger Kogel mountain (alt. 494 m, Leopold-Figl observatory);
Doppler mountain refuge. - Ferrous bath run by the Sisters of Mercy,
children's village of the Pro Juventute society; sawmill, factory for
metal blinds, locksmith's shops, wine growing and fruit farming. -
Gothic/Early Baroque parish church (1382-1415) with massive north
tower; Baroque fountain and statue of the Holy Trinity (1768) in front
(1652).
