!!!Kaisersteinbruch
Kaisersteinbruch, Burgenland, village in the district of Neusiedl,
alt. 203 m, situated on the southwestern slope of the
Leithagebirge mountains, cadastral municipality of the municipality
Bruckneudorf; shooting range and training grounds for the Austrian
army, former limestone quarry. First documented mention in 1590,
founded by the guild of stonemasons; served as a Nazi concentration
camp from 1938 to 1945. The parish church (with a Baroque altar from
1720) was consecrated in 1652, altered in 1745 and heavily damaged in
1945.
