b. Vienna, June 29, 1955, graphic artist, banknote designer. Studied
at the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt (Federal Training and
Research Institute of Graphic Arts) in Vienna; since 1976 employed by
the Austrian Central Bank. Designed the ATS 1000 banknote first issued
in 1983 (portrait of E. Schroedinger) and the ATS 5000 banknote
issued in 1989 (Portrait of W. A. Mozart) as well as the euro
banknotes (winner of the European Union's euro design competition of
1996).
