Kalmsteiner, Johann, b. Sarnthein/Sarentino (South Tyrol), Sept. 
29, 1845, d. Vienna, Jan. 5, 1897, sculptor. Designed 
architectural ornamentation for various buildings of the Vienna 
Ringstrasse boulevard (Michaelertrakt of the Hofburg, Parliament, 
University, Burgtheater), created portrait busts and sepulchral 
monuments.
