Kappl, Tirol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 
1,256 m, pop. 2,478, area 97.46 km%%sup 2/%, winter tourist 
centre (380,106 overnight stays), situated in the outer Paznaun 
valley, winter base of the federal road administration, cable railway 
to Diasalpe mountain (1,863 m); wood processing, small and 
medium-sized enterprises. Baroque parish church with Late Gothic 
spire, Baroque altar (1726/1727) with carved figures and frescoes 
(1774); parish church in Langesthei (1694); Baroque chapel at Ulmich, 
several chapels from the 18%%sup th/% /19%%sup th/%  centuries; old 
"Paarhof" farmsteads on steep hillsides, waterfall on the Visnitzbach 
stream.
