Kapsch AG, telecommunications company founded in 1892 by Johann 
Kapsch; headquarters in Vienna and branches in several European 
countries. The Austrian parent company of the international Kapsch 
Group is owned by the Kapsch family to this day. The Group has 
strategic partnerships with internationally renowned companies 
(Nortel, Bay, Fore Systems, and others). Kapsch AG produces facilities 
necessary for the infrastructure of public and private communication 
networks and traffic control systems for road and rail. Other spheres 
of activity include communication systems and facilities; consultancy, 
engineering, system design and project management. About 2,000 
employees achieved an annual turnover of ATS 4.6 billion in 
1998.
